OpenOffice: Free Open Office Suite
OpenOffice is a full-featured office suite by Apache. It is made up of five main applications:
- Writer to create and edit word processing files
- Calc to create and edit spreadsheets and charts
- Impress to create, open and edit PowerPoint presentation slides
- Base to create, maintain and update databases, and
- Draw to create and edit diagrams.
While not as mainstream as Microsoft Office, it makes for a robust free alternative for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
